I love my jewelry but it Oxidizes and turns dark! Help!

Protect your gemstones from damage!

Sterling silver tends to tarnish. This darkening occurs when the sterling silver reacts with gases in the air or with other substances that it comes in contact with.

Each time you wear your sterling silver jewelry, clean it with a Sterling Silver Polishing Cloth. We do sell these cloths in the store. After the jewelry is wiped with the cloth, we recommend wrapping the jewelry in tarnish prevention cloth (or Silver Saver Cloth) and placing it in a plastic bag.

The treated cloth slows down the tarnishing process and keeps softer gemstones from being damaged by harder gemstones. Try to keep your sterling silver in a cool, dry place.

Where do I get Silver Saver Cloth? Many fabric shops sell Silver Saver Cloth by the yard. Check for fabric sales and buy a yard or two -- it's inexpensive. Cut the fabric into squares that compliment the size of the jewelry you are wrapping and place wrapped jewelry in bag.

If you have a Sterling Silver Omega necklace, line a plastic sandwich bag with silver saver cloth and store the Omega chain flat to prevent kinks, damage and tarnishing to the chain.
